During these engagements, we begin by conducting a structured, critical assessment to identify current process challenges and streamlining opportunities. The process is carefully mapped and initial changes are made to the process steps as needed. When the final version of the core process is approved, milestones and business rules are established and configured in the system. The new workflow is then transitioned to the team through a structured change management process, which includes targeted training, stakeholder communications and a period of parallel processing. As soon as the system begins logging transactions, productivity metrics are available for continual monitoring and optimization of the group’s work.
System Bridges and “Stop-Gaps”
Often our clients are dealing with more complicated workflow challenge, where larger enterprise-wide systems provide support for portions of the group’s core processes, but leave gaping holes in other segments. These “holes” are typically listed in the group’s annual “wish list” submitted to the IT function, but because they are smaller concerns, their priority is pushed further down with each passing year. The team is left to handle those pieces manually, often jumping in and out of the various enterprise systems to “piece together” their core processes. Reporting is especially difficult, as teams typically must feed data from multiple systems into spreadsheets to generate the reporting they need to run their business.

After conducting a targeted assessment, we use the system to quickly creates “bridges” that allow the automation of tasks ranging from the two or three manual tasks between two systems, to entire workflows that jump in and out of multiple systems. The system can take data feeds from the enterprise systems and generate custom reports that are unavailable in the other systems, and also can push data to downstream systems automatically, eliminating re-entry of data by team members.
